Per your advertisement
in the San Diego Times, I am writing to state my interest in the New Grad RN
program at Bayne Memorial Hospital. I will graduating with a BSN from the
University of South Florida (USF) School of Nursing in August, 2013, and
believe my education and work experiences have prepared me for the excellence
demonstrated and expected of the medical team at BMH.
Prior to entering
nursing school, I worked for several years as an EMT, which strengthened my
resolve to further my education and become a nurse. Experience in high-stress emergency
environments challenged me, preparing me as I then accepted the discipline,
mental challenges, organization, team work, and leadership skills required of
nursing students. I have been able to incorporate my natural abilities of
academic studies, compassion with those in need, communication, and teamwork to
the field of nursing. In so doing, I have earned membership in three academic
nursing honor societies, am graduating with honors, and have gained experience
in such areas as the Tampa Veteran’s Hospital, the medical/surgical floors, and
received training in almost every floor of Florida Hospital Tampa (formerly
UCH), in which I have done clinical training for the past two years,
specifically during the internship in summer 2013. USF has prepared me to enter the nursing
field, and I am confident that I can provide not only the skills which you demand,
but the continued growth which you expect.
I am very interested in
beginning my nursing career at Bayne Memorial Hospital and would be grateful
for the opportunity to speak with you. I am presently completing my final
semester at USF, which prevents a personal visit at this time. However, I am presently available for a phone
interview or by email. I also plan to
fly to San Diego at the end of August and stay for several weeks; the purpose
is to make arrangements to relocate to your area. Therefore, it would certainly be beneficial
if I could meet with you sometime in September.
